Jetour Auto Malaysia has added a plug-in hybrid to its T2 line-up. The T2 i-DM pairs a 1.5-litre turbo engine with a single electric motors and an 18.4 kWh battery for over 100 km of electric driving and up to 1,200 km on a full tank and charge.
Jetour Auto Malaysia launched the T2 i-DM PHEV on 19 September 2026, priced at RM162,800. Imported from China, it is the plug-in hybrid version of the T2, part of Jetour’s T-series of off-road SUVs.
The i-DM name stands for Intelligent Dual Mode. It combines a 1,499 cc four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine (136 ps, 220 Nm) with a single electric motor system rated at 165 kW and 390 Nm. Together, the system produces 265 kW (360 ps) and 610 Nm, sent through a 3-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT).
There is one notable difference from the petrol-only T2. That model has all-wheel drive, but the T2 i-DM drives only the front wheels. Jetour says it is just as capable off-road, and with its long cruising range the PHEV looks more like a rugged tourer than a hardcore off-roader.
Over 100 km of electric range
The lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery holds 18.4 kWh, which Jetour says gives more than 100 km of electric-only driving. That is enough to cover most daily commutes without using the engine. With the 70-litre fuel tank also full, total range reaches a claimed 1,200 km.
The T2 i-DM can take up to 175 kW of DC fast charging, which brings the battery from 10% to 80% in 27 minutes. On a 6.6 kW AC wallbox, going from 30% to 100% takes about 6 hours, so it can be topped up overnight at home.
Big, boxy and built for rough roads
The T2 i-DM is 4,785 mm long, 2,006 mm wide and 1,875 mm tall, with a 2,800 mm wheelbase and room for five people. It has 200 mm of ground clearance, rides on 20-inch wheels with 255/55R20 tyres, and weighs 2,045 kg. Suspension is by MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear, and the turning radius is 6.0 metres.
On safety, the T2 i-DM has six airbags and driver-assistance systems that use a camera and radar. It has not yet been rated by ASEAN NCAP.
At RM162,800, the T2 i-DM gives buyers a plug-in hybrid with rugged SUV styling, a real electric range for daily driving, and enough total range for long trips outstation.
