Asia’s collector car scene has plenty of passion, but buying and selling a classic has often meant scattered networks and unclear valuations. Heritage Motor Exchange Asia (HME Asia) is a new event built to fix that. Its inaugural edition runs from 23 to 25 October 2026 (Friday to Sunday) at Merdeka Hall, World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur.
What Is HME Asia?
HME Asia calls itself “The Asian Collector Car Marketplace.” It combines the emotional side of automotive heritage with the structure of a formal exchange. The organisers plan it as an annual anchor event for the ASEAN classic car market, bringing together collectors, specialised dealers, premium brands and enthusiasts under one roof.
Three Ways to Take Part
Concours d’Elegance. Owners can enter their cars to compete for awards. Entrants can also secure an official Valuation Certificate for their vehicle.
Concours de Vente. This is a curated sale of independently judged classic and exotic vehicles, aimed at serious buyers.
Private Consignment Paddock. Private collectors and owners can sell on consignment, with cars ranging from driver’s quality up to concours standard.
Six Categories, Every Era
The collection spans six categories:
- Vintage
- Classic
- Modern Classic
- JDM
- Exotic
- Motorsports
Built on Provenance
The event puts weight on documentation: historical records, authentication papers and mechanical certifications. The organisers also want HME Asia to:
- Help establish real-time market benchmarks based on collector demand, rarity and condition (price discovery)
- Offer a secure, high-intent environment for high-value transactions
- Match historic and limited-production cars with dedicated new custodians
The Collectors Vault
Beyond the cars, HME Asia aims to bring the whole ownership ecosystem together. Participants include private owners, classic car dealers, car brands and car clubs. Restoration centres, spare parts suppliers, inspection partners, insurers and government agencies with transport displays are also involved. Fuel and lubricant companies and sellers of books and die-cast models round out the list.
